

Mónica Maldonado Sabando es Directora Ejecutiva de la Cámara Ecuatoriana de Industriales y Procesadores Atuneros – CEIPA.
Economista de profesión, se ha especializado en Sistemas de Gestión. Durante 25 años representa al sector pesquero del Ecuador. Ha participado activamente en negociaciones internacionales, especialmente en la negociación del Acuerdo Comercial Multipartes Ecuador – Unión Europea.
Sus áreas de trabajo están enfocadas en las políticas relacionadas con el comercio internacional y el acceso a los mercados, responsabilidad social, trazabilidad, seguridad alimentaria, control pesquero con el objetivo de fortalecer la Cadena de Valor del Sector Atunero del Ecuador y mejorar la competitividad.
Respecto a las certificaciones ha elaborado el Código de Conducta para la Gestión de la Pesca Responsable de la Cadena de Valor del Atún Ecuatoriano – Protocolo Voluntario que consolida leyes, decretos y controles nacionales e internacionales basados en el Principio del Código de Conducta de la FAO y en los actuales momentos se encuentra impulsando el desarrollo del Sistema de Certificación Sustentabilidad Ecuatoriana Atunera – SEA.
Kyle Maloney is the Co-Founder of Tech Beach Retreat and a digital marketer. In the last decade, Kyle has Co-Founded five Technology Driven Companies in the industries of Building Sustainability, Healthy Food, Local Business Search, Technology Business Convening and Digital Marketing. Kyle's companies have been written about in global and regional publications like Forbes, Inc, Essence Magazine and The Huffington Post. Kyle is also a NextGen Board Member of the Inter-American Development Bank (Trinidad)
Mr. Sahib Mammadov is currently serving as the Deputy Minister of Economy in the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Previously, he held the position of head of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Control over the Consumer Market.
Since 2009 he worked as the head of the Department of Regional Development and State Programs of the Ministry of Economic Development. In 2004-2007 he worked in the Ministry of Economic Development as a senior consultant, sector manager, deputy head of department and head of the Sustainable Development and Regional Policy Department. In 2003-2004 he worked as an information officer at the Information and Technical Support Office of the European Commission in Azerbaijan, "Europe House", and at the Azerbaijan representation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
In 2002 Mr. Mammadov worked as an expert in the Azerbaijan representation of the UN International Organization for Migration on migration issues and in the European Union TACIS project in Azerbaijan on the implementation of the partnership and cooperation agreement between the European Union and Azerbaijan.
Mr. Mammadov started his career in 2001 as an expert assistant on the European Union TACIS project at the European Consultants Organization (ECO) in the Kingdom of Belgium.
In 2022 graduated from the Harvard Business School's "Economics for Managers" Certificate Program Harvard.
In 2008 graduated from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, majoring in finance and credit. In 2001-2007 successfully finished the courses on the Fundamentals of UN Program and Project Management (Azerbaijan), Asian Development Bank Investments (Laos), UNIDO's "Food Packaging and Sustainability Tracking" (Turkey), "Supporting Regional Economic Development" within the European Union Establishment Project (Ireland).
Mr. Sahib Mammadov holds a bachelor's degree (2000) and a master's degree (2001) in international law from the Kyiv State University.

Elmar Mammadov holds a master's degree in International Affairs from the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID), a master's degree in Legal Regulation of the Economy from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and a bachelor's degree in Public and Municipal Administration from the Baku Institute of Social Administration and Political Sciences.
He is an experienced diplomat who held various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2001 to 2017. During this time, he served as a trade diplomat at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UN Office and other International organizations in Geneva, as well as at the Embassies of Azerbaijan in Switzerland and France. Following his tenure in the Ministry, he worked as a senior adviser responsible for a green agenda in the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan from 2017 to 2024.
Currently, he leads the economic cooperation department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is a co-leader of the COP29 Presidency’s Action Agenda Team, overseeing global and regional initiatives.
Nurana Mammadova is a peacebuilder, educator, and social entrepreneur, currently serving as an Expert at Education HUB, an Azerbaijan social enterprise.
A McCain Global Leader (2024), she has been recognized by the University of Denver and the US Institute of Peace (2019) and serves on prominent advisory boards, including MitOst e.V. and the Bosch Alumni Network’s Global Steering Committee.
With a focus on education, conflict management, and youth empowerment, Nurana has educated over 12,000 people globally through non-formal training initiatives.
She holds multiple degrees, including a master’s from the European Institute of High International Studies and Diplomatic Studies from the University of Oxford. She is currently pursuing a DPhil in Global and Area Studies.
Giuseppe is Deputy Director for LAC and Representative of the UNOPS Office in Mexico (2021).
He started working at UNOPS 28 years ago. Throughout this period, he's served as Associate Coordinator for the Urgent Interventions Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1998-1999), Associate Portfolio Manager at UNOPS Guatemala (2000), Director of the Operations Center at UNOPS El Salvador (2001-2007), Representative and Director of the Operations Center at UNOPS Peru (2008-2010) and Deputy Regional Director and Director Hub of Operations of Panama in the UNOPS Regional Office (2011-2015).
Since 2016, he was appointed Deputy Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and Representative of the UNOPS Office in Argentina (2016-2021).
Giuseppe has a BA in Economics from Gabriele University D'Annunzio, and an MBA from the University of Barcelona and School of Business Administration.

Calvin joined IATP as a senior trade policy analyst in December 2022 in the Washington, D.C. office. He has an interest in promoting environmentally sustainable agriculture approaches, strengthening rural livelihoods and in shaping U.S. agriculture policy, such as the Farm Bill. He has worked on trade policy issues and regional integration for the past 15 years. He has covered trade negotiations with the European Union, the Doha Round, the USTR and African Union on renewal of AGOA, and more recently as a consultant on the African Continental Free Trade Area. He began his career as a researcher with the Trade Policy Centre for Southern Africa (tralac) in South Africa. He has worked on trade policy issues based in Brussels and Geneva, as well as in developing country regions across Africa and the Caribbean. Before transitioning to non-profit, Calvin worked for the African Development Bank and the Caribbean Development Bank. As a trade policy consultant, Calvin has worked on various agriculture value chain and trade policy projects for various development partners that include the EU and GIZ. Calvin holds a master’s degree in International Law and Economics from the World Trade Institute, Switzerland and an LL.M. from Howard University. Calvin lives in Maryland with his partner and daughter. He enjoys the outdoors, politics and is a lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC.
A native from Nice France, Michel spent his childhood in Grasse in the middle of aromatic plants fields. He was educated in Paris, earned his chemical engineering degree from INSCIR and holds a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from Duke University, NC.
He started his professional career in 1982 at Mane’s International Headquarters in France as a research chemist and in 1989 he became Director of the Fragrance Division.
In 1994 he became President of the US affiliate and in 1999 he took the position of President of MANE Americas. As of July 2024 he is a member of the supervisory board of the Mane group of companies and its ESG committee. Michel has been attending the CBD COPs since 2010 and continues to spearhead biodiversity-based innovation programs partnering with IPLCs, local research institutions and governmental organizations in the development of ABS compliant natural ingredients value chains.

Dr. Vilawan Mangklatanakul, is a retired career diplomat who has been with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand since 1995. Her last position was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Slovenia and the Slovak Republic and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Thailand to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Vienna. She has built her expertise in important areas of international law including diplomatic and State immunities, treaty law, intellectual property and international economic law. She also has a keen interest in investment law and dispute mechanisms. She has represented the Government of Thailand on many occasions as the lead legal negotiator and legal adviser in connection with the negotiations of free trade agreements and international investment agreements. Dr. Mangklatanakul has experience acting as an associate judge at the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court for five years, and has also served on the Thailand Arbitration Center Board of Directors, and is listed on the Thai Arbitration Institute's roster of arbitrators specialised in international trade law. She is a member of the International Law Commission for the term 2023-2027. Dr. Mangklatanakul received the degrees of Bachelor of Laws from Thammasat University; Master of Laws (International Business Law) from the Queen Mary College, University of London; and Doctor of Philosophy in Law from the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London.
