
Maruxa currently serves as Secretary General of the Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport SLoCaT.
Passionate about social, political, economic and environmental justice for human development, Maruxa specialises in integrated urban and territorial development.
Over her 17-year career, Maruxa has worked with multilateral institutions, national, regional and local governments, NGOs and philanthropy in 33 countries across continents to develop public policies, capacity and implementation projects, and multi-stakeholder partnerships that advance sustainability and equitable prosperity.

Since May 2021, Gabriela holds the position of Technical Secretariat of the National Trade Facilitation Committee of Ecuador.
She is a Foreign Trade, Integration, and Customs Engineer. With ten years of experience as a public servant, she has worked in the areas of regional integration and multilateral organizations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments, and Fisheries.


Éléonore Caroit is France’s Minister Delegate for Francophonie, International Partnerships and French Nationals Abroad. Before her current appointment, she served as a member of the National Assembly, representing the second constituency of French citizens living abroad.

Chantal Line Carpentier joined UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD)'s Division on International Trade and Commodities (DITC) in 2014, after serving as Chief, UNCTAD New York Office of the Secretary-General. She brings to the Branch over 25 years of work experience in international trade, and environmental and agro-economics.
Prior to working with UNCTAD, she supported the Commission on Sustainable Development and served as Major Groups (of non-State actors) coordinator for the UN Rio+20 Conference and the SDGs negotiations at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA). She also supported the sustainable consumption and production and sustainable agriculture negotiations.
As Head of the North American Free Trade Agreement Commission for Environmental Cooperations, she lead work on the nexus of environment, economy, and trade. She also served as Agro-environmental Policy Analyst for Winrock International, and post-Doctoral fellow/Brazil office manager for the International Food Policy Research Institute.
She has an extensive list of publications on sustainable agriculture, trade and environment, sustainable consumption and production, financing for sustainable development, stakeholder engagement, global value chains, micro, small and medium enterprises, and economic empowerment of women.
She obtained a PhD. in Agro-Environmental Economics from Virginia Technology and MSc. and BSc. from McGill University.

Mrs. Carpio is responsible for the coordination and the representation of Spain in international financing matters, particularly in its relations with the European Union and the international financial institutions. Her department also manages the external debt that the Spanish State holds as a creditor, the negotiation, restructuring, conversion and management, bilateral and multilateral, of the same and the representation of Spain in the Paris Club.
Mrs. Carpio is Alternate Governor for Spain at the African Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. She is also Director for Spain in the Board of Directors of the European Investment Bank.
Prior to her appointment Mrs. Carpio held different positions, in the Ministry of Finance, in the Ministry of Economy, in the Ministry of Trade and in the Economic Office of the President of the Government.
She is a member of the High Corps of Spanish State Economists and Trade Experts, the senior officials in charge of the management of the Economic and Trade Policies in Spain. She holds a degree in Economics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Lizzie Carr MBE is an environmental activist, award winning campaigner and the founder of Planet Patrol, a global non-profit that combines the power of community action with science to collect data around single use materials to drive action that serves to protect our planet and wildlife from the harmful effects of pollution.
She is the first person in history to paddle board the length of England’s waterways, completing the 400-mile journey in 22 days, plotting more than 20,000 examples of plastic waste. Lizzie has completed a further two world first paddle boarding expeditions and is the author of “Paddling Britain”, a best-selling book. She the host of Earth Shakers, a podcast that delves into the stories behind people changing the planet. Lizzie is a respected environmental voice and was named in the top 10 female climate activists by Stylist, Marie Claire and Glamour magazine. In 2020 she received Stylist’s Inspiration of the Year in the Remarkable Women Awards. In that same year she was appointed as a LinkedIn Changemaker and awarded the Points of Light Award by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
In June 2021, Lizzie received the ultimate honorary title, an MBE (Member of the British Empire) for her outstanding contribution to environmental work and activism. Lizzie and her achievements to rid the world of plastic pollution have been internationally recognised by the media and the general public.
