UNCTAD/TrainForTrade delivers Module 7 of its port training programme

The Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), in collaboration with UNCTAD and University College Cork, will train 22 of its middle managers on Module 7 of UNCTAD’s TrainForTrade Port Training Programme: “Administrative and Legal Management”.

At the end of this module, the participants will be able to describe the administrative function of a port, the legal basis for the main functions of a port, the main provisions of regulations for operating and policing a port and the main rules of the public port domain.  They will also understand how to properly use risk management in order to prevent harmful events.


The 22 participants of the programme will submit a first draft of their final dissertations. To obtain the UNCTAD Modern Port Management Certificate, each participant must successfully complete all 8 modules of the training programme, write and defend his or her dissertation before a panel of international port experts.
