National Consultations for the Ghana E-commerce Strategy

The E-Commerce and Digital Economy Branch of UNCTAD, in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Ghana will hold multistakeholder consultations on the development of a national e-commerce strategy in Accra on 27 and 28 June 2024. The consultations will review the results of the Ghana eTrade Readiness Assessment published by UNCTAD in 2023, discuss priorities for e-commerce development and agree on the vision, mission and strategic goals of the e-commerce strategy. The consultations will involve senior officials and members of the Ghana National Steering Committee on E-commerce and Digital Trade, as well as relevant stakeholders from the private sector, civil society and academia. 

The development of the Ghana E-commerce Strategy takes place under the UN Joint SDG Fund Digital Transformation Window 2023, in partnership with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), coordinated by the UN Resident Coordinator Office (UNRCO). The programme focuses on leveraging digital ecosystems for increased MSMEs’ productivity and will enhance the capacity of policy makers to lead, plan, implement and monitor e-commerce reforms that contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.
