United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is organizing jointly with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), the in-person training on “Non-Tariff Measures data collection and update for ASEAN+6” in Bangkok from 28 to 31 May 2024.
The training will focus on equipping government officials and national teams from 16 countries: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Viet Nam, with the aim of:
Enhancing the understanding of the impacts of NTMs on international and regional trade;
Providing participants with knowledge and skills for the collection, coding, recording, and updating of Non-tariff measures data in the region, using UNCTAD’s methodology and new data entry platform TRAINS dataentry.
Participants and speakers to the training include the ASEAN Secretariat, government officials from the 16 above-mentioned countries, colleagues from UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and ERIA, and national consultants in charge of the update of NTM data in the region.
