Consultations on the Revision of the United Nations Guidelines for Consumer Protection

In preparation of the Seventh United Nations Conference to Review All Aspects of the Set of Multilaterally Agreed Equitable Principles and Rules for the Control of Restrictive Business Practices (Geneva, 8-12 November 2010) and in continuation with the work of the Ad Hoc Expert Group Meetings on Consumer Protection of 2012, 2013 and 2015 and the ensuing consultations, UNCTAD convenes a meeting on Consultations for the Revision of the United Nations Guidelines for Consumer Protection directed to Permanent Missions in Geneva.

The current Draft Resolution on Consumer Protection for consideration by the General Assembly contains a preamble, eight operative clauses and an Annex containing the revised United Nations Guidelines on Consumer Protection. You may consult the latest version of the Draft Resolution in the Documents section of this page.

Experts are invited to provide comments to the current version of the Draft Resolution until 18 May 2015 by sending them to Arnau.Izaguerri@unctad.org and Graham.Mott@unctad.org.

Experts are also invited to convey their views and interest to their respective Permanent Missions in Geneva in preparation for the meeting.

The Report of the Ad Hoc Expert Group Meetings on Consumer Protection of 2012, 2013 and 2015 will be submitted, along with the final version of the Draft Resolution, to the Seventh United Nations Conference to Review the Set for its consideration on 9 July 2015.
