A national workshop in Cape Verde concluded that the impact of macro-economic policies is not "gender neutral," and that women in Cape Verde should be granted more opportunities to contribute to the development and economic growth of their country.

The UNCTAD Virtual Institute kicked off its on-line course on trade and poverty yesterday, the first phase of a broader research capacity building project funded by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the Government of Finland. The course will conclude on 30 November this year.

Port managers in Tanzania complete next phase of training

Twenty-one middle managers, including six women, from the port community completed their week-long training programme in Module 7 of UNCTAD's Modern Port Management course at the Tanzania Ports Authority in Dar es Salaam last Friday.
