In July 2022, DMFAS was installed at the Central Bank in Yemen in Aden under a project signed between the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) and UNCTAD.
A first DMFAS functional training mission took place in early August 2022 which allowed CBY to start recording public debt into DMFAS.
As CBY has since made substantial progress in completing its database, it requested that the advanced DMFAS training mission be organized to finalize the database and receive additional training for reporting and analysis purposes. A DMFAS consultant stayed in Aden from March 15 to 27 2023 and trained a total of 18 participants, of which 2 came from the Ministry of Finance. An important contribution of the mission was to assist CBY in reconciling external debt positions and recording DSSI relief in DMFAS.
Recognizing the importance of the assistance received from the DMFAS Programme, the CBY has published the success of the workshop as well as the mission debriefing with the H.E. the Governor on its website. (cby-ye.com/news/479 and cby-ye.com/news/487).
