Evolution of the tariff landscape in the United States

As of 7 August 2025

Starting with the first announcement on 1 February 2025, the United States government, in accordance with various executive orders and proclamations, has introduced a set of country-specific and sectoral tariffs on imports from nearly all countries.

The interactive map shows the average tariff rates applied to each country based on its composition of exports to the US – a so-called trade-weighted average tariff.

The map shows:

  • The applied tariffs before January 2025
  • The tariffs during a 90-day “pause” for new country-specific tariffs
  • The new tariffs (including country-specific tariffs) applicable starting from 7 August 2025. (The 90-day “pause” for China expires on 12 August.)

These tariffs are mapped based on presidential actions announced between 1 February and 7 August 2025.
