Key Issues

The Workshop will address emerging issues in the area of blockchain, digitalization and digital currencies, and in particular the implications of these developments for financial reporting. It will allow a range of reporting stakeholders to take stock of this technological revolution, which brings both opportunities and risks for quality of reporting, the accounting profession, and financial stability.

The Workshop will consist of a keynote address, two round tables, and a plenary discussion. The first round table will introduce emerging issues, focusing on broader implications of blockchain technology and the digitalization revolution for accounting stakeholders. The second round table will delve deeper into the subject of digital currencies, and how they relate to the existing financial reporting infrastructure.

The outcome of the Workshop will be the sharing of emerging practice in the area of blockchain, digitalization and digital currencies, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of such cutting-edge issues from some leading stakeholders.
