UNCTAD at the 2015 WSIS Forum

UNCTAD is co-organizer of the 2015 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum, the world's largest annual gathering of the 'ICT for development' community. UNCTAD will play an active role in the high-level segment and as co-facilitator, moderator and panelist at various sessions.

All stakeholders in the information society and the general public are invited to take part in the 2015 WSIS Forum.

Monday, 25 May

UNCTAD will participate in the session on Measuring the Information Society: Challenges and Trends organized by the Information Technology Organization of Iran.
Tuesday, 26 May

UNCTAD Secretary-General Mukhisa Kituyi will preside over the High-Level Meeting of the UN Group on the Information Society (UNGIS) as UNCTAD takes over the UNGIS Chairmanship from ITU for a one-year term.

UNCTAD co-organizes and facilitates the action line session C7 on e-business, "E-business and the SDGs: the Way Forward", jointly with ITC and UPU.

UNCTAD will participate in the action line C5 on Building confidence and security in the use ICTs: A vital component of the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda, organized by the ITU.

In collaboration with the ITC and UPU, UNCTAD co-organizes the session "International e-commerce for developing countries: Practical case studies in overcoming barriers to trade through digital channels".

Together with the Partnership on Measuring ICT for Development, UNCTAD co-organizes the session on "ICT Indicators for Monitoring the SDGs".
