The 3rd Meeting of the Steering Committee, scheduled for 27 January 2025, will bring together project partners to review ongoing progress and plan the next stages of implementation under the “Strengthening Capacity for Evidence-Based Policymaking and Economic Resilience in CARICOM” initiative. The meeting will provide an opportunity to agree on the agenda, review comments on the previous meeting minutes, and prepare for upcoming activities across both the statistical and policy workstreams.
On the statistics side, participants will outline the timeframe and next steps for countries to begin testing the TiSSTAT system. The Committee will also plan an online training workshop to support Member States during the testing phase, including discussions on the timing, content, and identification of the necessary NSO statistical focal points and nominated IT specialists. Relevant TiSSTAT documents to be made available to countries will also be reviewed.
For the policy component, the meeting will focus on finalizing the priority sectors to be analysed and confirming the national focal points who will support this work. The session will conclude with space for any other business and agreement on follow-up actions.
