The 6th Arab competition forum is organized by ESCWA, in partnership with UNCTAD, OECD, and the Competition and Anti-Monopoly Affairs Council of Iraq.
This two-day event serves as a collaborative platform for knowledge-sharing and best practices in the field of competition, facilitating coordination and co-operation at the national, regional, and global levels.
Experts from competition authorities in member states will benefit from peer learning through international case studies and best practices presented by experts from various countries.
The Forum aims to:
- Promote sustainable economic growth through the effective enforcement of competition laws in key markets and strategic sectors, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Strengthen collaboration among competition authorities in Arab countries to develop mechanisms for combating anti-competitive practices.
- Leverage innovation and modern technologies to enhance enforcement tools and improve the ability of competition authorities to detect monopolistic practices.
- Facilitate the exchange of best practices among ESCWA member states, enhancing the capacity of competition authorities in the region, including the use of innovation to improve competition law enforcement.
