The 6th Steering Committee Meeting for the project Strengthening Capacity for Evidence-Based Policymaking and Economic Resilience in CARICOM reviews progress since the previous meeting and discusses key upcoming activities. The meeting begins with the adoption of the agenda, a review of action points from the 5th Steering Committee Meeting, and an update on the overall project timeline and implementation status.

Participants receive a presentation on the results of fact-finding missions conducted in Grenada and Dominica, highlighting the main outcomes and outlining the next steps for the project roadmap in these countries. The committee also discusses the development of the Creative Services Questionnaire, including its methodology, the participation of Member States, and the potential future use of the collected information.

Updates are provided on capacity-building activities, including the upcoming UNCTAD/WTO/UNSD e-learning course on International Merchandise Trade Statistics (IMTS), scheduled from 16 March to 3 May 2026, which requires registration and includes a follow-up webinar in May. In addition, progress is reported on the development of a dedicated TiSSTAT e-learning course aimed at ensuring the sustainability of the project by enabling remote training for new staff in National Statistical Offices.
