Ad Hoc Expert Meeting on National Trade Facilitation Committees After the Signature of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement

​Together with the International Trade Center (ITC) and the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), UNCTAD is organizing an Ad Hoc Expert Meeting on National Trade Facilitation Committees (NTFC). This event is taking place in the framework of the Asian Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum, organized by UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).

The following topics will be addressed during the meeting:
• The journey of National Trade Facilitation Committees before the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement
• National Trade Facilitation Committees in the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement: the article 23.2
• National Trade Facilitation Committees after the signature of the WTO Trade Agreement with the first public presentation of the results of a yet-to-be-published UNCTAD quantitative study on NTFCs
• The importance of involving the private sector for the successful work of NTFCs
• Key success factors, obstacles and main lessons learnt
