The 8th Meeting of the Council of Ministers directed the Secretariat to prepare a comprehensive information note on SEZs in Africa and submit the same to member states for their inputs and comments.
The Meeting further directed the Committee on Trade in Goods to develop draft SEZ Regulations based on the comprehensive information note within three months of their meeting.
Participants include Chief Negotiators and SEZ Experts of AfCFTA State Parties and non-State Parties.
The workshop will enable participants to learn about best practices in the drafting of SEZs Regulations in order to build their capacity on drafting AfCFTA SEZs Regulations.
It will consist of experience-sharing sessions on drafting SEZs Regulations and discussions.
