Block-chain for Emerging Economies

20 April 2018
05:00 - 06:30 hrs. Room XXVI
Geneva
, Switzerland

The deployment and uptake of blockchain technology presents the potential opportunity for rapid advancement, and benefits for numerous fields throughout emerging economies.

This session focuses on two possibilities: the leap-frog effect of emerging economies building on existing infrastructure and learning, and the potential for re-exploitation of supply chain workers through data harvesting.

Based on current and emerging developments, we will explore the likely scenarios, the pros and the cons, to become better informed about how we can position emerging economies to derive the greatest benefit from blockchain technology while protecting from harm. Speakers:
