Closing ceremony of e-Learning course on Gender perspectives in Trade Facilitation – Spanish edition

This closing ceremony of the e-Learning course on Gender perspectives in Trade Facilitation - Spanish edition will take place on 16 March. During the course, 327 participants (168 women) from four Latin American countries, learn from international experts about the link between trade facilitation and gender. The topics covered in the course and webinars include the challenges faced by cross-border women traders in Latin America and how the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement addresses those challenges; how to mainstream gender perspective in the NTFCs and in trade facilitation policies; gender equality and diversity in Customs, among others.

The course includes two webinars and one module with videos, readings, handouts, quizzes, an exam and a final assignment which consists in writing an essay about trade facilitation and gender. This methodology gives participants a better understanding of why discussing trade facilitation through a gender lens is essential. Participants are currently in the stage of writing their essays, applying the concepts learned throughout the course. The best essays will be published in the UNCTAD Trade Facilitation E-Learning Blog.
