The presentations at the event "Impact of Creative Industries on the regional economy" aroused special interest from officials from the various areas, the city governments, artistic community, local entrepreneurs, cultural entrepreneurs, the press and the general public. The event was opened by Adrián Darío Maderna, Mayor of the city of Trelew.
The objective of the forum was to facilitate the creation of a platform in the region of Patagonia to connect and empower cultural entrepreneurs from each city where they can showcase their creativity and nurture entrepreneurship skills. The forum was followed by a private meeting at the Municipality of Trelew with technical staff involved in the creative industries – production, culture and tourism – of each of the five Municipalities present. It was agreed during the meeting that an agenda for Patagonia Austral Creativa will start in 2018 with the aim to strengthen public policies that allow the work in networks: municipalities, institutions, and creative entrepreneurs, in collaboration with UNCTAD.
The mapping of the creative industries in the Region will also start in 2018.
