The Empretec Study Tour to Silicon Valley will bring together entrepreneurs, investors and entrepreneurship ecosystem leaders from Africa, Asia and Latin America to engage with one of the world's most dynamic innovation hubs and participate in FounderX, a global gathering of founders, investors and technology leaders.
Through workshops, networking activities and exchanges with entrepreneurs, investors and AI experts, participants will explore emerging trends in artificial intelligence, startup growth and venture investment. The programme will provide opportunities to build international connections, exchange experiences and identify pathways for collaboration, market access and investment.
As part of the study tour, UNCTAD will convene a dedicated session on scaling businesses across borders in an AI-driven world. Bringing together founders, investors and ecosystem leaders from Africa, Asia and Latin America, the discussion will explore emerging growth markets, strategies for international expansion and the importance of local partnerships, talent and ecosystem connections in building a global presence. Participants will also visit selected companies and organizations in Silicon Valley, gaining first-hand exposure to innovation-driven business models, entrepreneurial practices and emerging technologies.
The study tour reflects UNCTAD's commitment to connecting entrepreneurial talent with global networks, knowledge and opportunities. Through the Empretec programme, it supports entrepreneurs and ecosystem leaders in strengthening innovation ecosystems, fostering international partnerships and helping high-potential enterprises grow and compete in global markets.
