The upcoming May summit of G7 Leaders in Shima, Japan, is a critical opportunity for these governments to frame the evolving international discussion on addressing global information and communications technology (ICT) policy challenges that both developed and developing countries face and therefore growing the global economy.
Any ICT outcomes of the G7 Leaders Summit should simultaneously advance privacy protections, enhance national security and data security, and enable the cross-border data flows that power growth and innovation.
In this session, ITI, JEITA, and DIGITALEUROPE will brief participants on their joint recommendations to G7 Leaders and explain why global leadership on these issues is necessary for global economic growth and could lead to exponential growth in developing countries.
