National activities to strengthen sustainability reporting infrastructure launched in Lima, Peru
UNCTAD and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru co-organized a kick-off meeting on strengthening Peru’s national sustainability reporting infrastructure.
The meeting took place on 22nd October 2025 in a hybrid format. It was organized in the context of the United Nations Development Account Project on Strengthening sustainability reporting to foster sustainable finance and investment in selected developing countries in Asia and Latin America.
The Kick-off meeting marked the start of national-level activities in Peru. It will be followed by an assessment exercise of the national financial and sustainability reporting infrastructure to identify possible gaps and priority areas, a national workshop to validate the findings of the assessment and provide capacity building, and the development of an action plan on how to reinforce the sustainability reporting ecosystem. A capacity-building activity on climate-related disclosure for public sector entities will also be delivered.
During the meeting, UNCTAD presented the objectives, activities, timeline and deliverables of the project. It also provided information on the tools that will be used to conduct the assessment of the financial and sustainability ecosystem in the country and to prepare an action plan to reinforce the regulation, institutions and human capacity to produce high-quality sustainability reports.
The meeting was attended by 38 participants from key institutions involved in financial and sustainability reporting at the national level, from the public and private sectors and civil society.
