The interface between poverty and trade is multifaceted, and requires national stakeholders and development partners to join forces in a comprehensive and coordinated fashion. In Lesotho, this coordination is well under way and provides a good example of inter-agency assistance being delivered according to the Government's needs and guidance.
This information session aims to present to member States:
- The content and results of the inter-agency programmes in the area of trade and productive capacities, such as those being implemented in Lesotho.
- The recent update of the Diagnostic Trade Integration Study for Lesotho and its role in the national development and poverty reduction strategy.
This meeting will also provide an opportunity for the Government of Lesotho to present its national development priorities and assistance needs regarding trade, investment and related areas.
Representatives of the agencies that are members of the Cluster will participate in the meeting. Representatives of development agencies and NGOs, and journalists, are welcome.
