Mission to support the use of TiSSTAT for the 2025 Trade in Services survey in Benin

The mission supported the 2025 Trade in Services survey conducted by l’Institut National de la Statistique et de la Démographie (INStaD) in Benin. It focused on implementing all aspects of sampling and data collection within the Trade in Services Statistics Information System (TiSSTAT), developed and maintained by UNCTAD. The mission was carried out in collaboration with the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) Commission. During the mission, experts discussed methodological and technological issues and ensured the system was ready for the survey. The mission addressed sampling issues, discussing stratification, how to make the most of the available sample size and setting up for accurate inferences about the population of enterprises as well as other methodological details. The mission also resolved technical challenges such as trouble shooting the email server for the data collection. They also drafted recommendations for future enhancements to the TiSSTAT application.
