The National Institute for the Defence of Free Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (IDENCOPI) of Peru will hold its national Competition Day on 10 December 2020. It will hold an online forum to discuss several issues of importance for competition. It will gather competition enforcers, practitioners, academics and consumer groups to discuss advertising, self-regulation and compliance, competition in the digital era, regulation of advertising and healthy diet, and innovation in competition.
Mr. Juan Luis Crucelegui, Chief of Advisory Service and Capacity Building of UNCTAD's Competition and Consumer Policies, will speak on innovation and competition.
Mr. Arnau Izaguerri, Economic Affairs Officer in the same unit, will speak on competition in the digital era, presenting the findings of UNCTAD's recent note on "Strengthening consumer protection and competition in the digital economy."
