Presentation on rules of origin

The training webinar, organized by the Italian Trade Agency and Confindustria on Customs Law and International Trade, was aimed at supporting and facilitating the activity of companies operating in foreign markets in this phase of economic recovery and in the face of constantly changing markets and international regulations.

During this webinar, UNCTAD presented a session on rules of origin, focusing on the new boundaries and guidelines for business. It also addressed the major problems encountered in the interpretation of the complex rules of origin, and their management. Multilateral and plurilateral initiatives for an agreement on rules of origin could simplify their interpretation and management.

The research program with business conducted by UNCTAD and the European University Institute (EUI) was presented, and some national measures were suggested.

The webinar brought together over 300 companies from various sectors.
