UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) provides assistance to DRC in its efforts to facilitate trade. Since January 2025, UNCTAD has been supporting countries of the EAC region in implementing the Trade Facilitation Agreement (WTO TFA), monitoring and evaluating their trade facilitation measures, with the aim of improving the business climate for economic operators engaged in international trade in East Africa.
The four-day event aims to meet the specific needs of DRC by: 1. Training the Secretariat of the NTFC on how to chair the Committee, how to communicate with the Members, and how to manage the Committee's Working Groups; 2. Validation of the new terms of reference for the NTFC, the Secretariat, and the Working Groups; 3. Evaluation of the implementation of the WTO TFA measures that are marked as pending in DRC’s monitoring and evaluation tool (the Reform Tracker).
This event is funded by TradeMark Africa; and is jointly organized by the NTFC of DRC, the East African Community and UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
In parallel, an international consultant will be compiling data for DRC’s Trade Information Portal (25 February to 6 March 2026).
