Trade facilitation in action: Validation of the Project on Facilitating Trade in DRC through the Development of the National Trade Information Portal and NTFC capacity

In the framework of the project Phase 1 “Facilitating Trade in DRC through the Development of the National Trade Information Portal and NTFC capacity”, funded by TradeMark Africa, UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is organizing a workshop from April 8 to 9, 2026, in Kinshasa to validate the documentation of the Trade Information Portal's (TIP) trade procedures and to review the progress of the institutional reforms of the National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC). 

It will take place according to the following schedule: 

• April 7: Preliminary meeting between the UNCTAD representative, the international consultant supporting the TIP team, the NTFC Technical Secretariat, and TIP representatives. 
• April 8: Validation of the TIP's trade procedures documentation. 
• April 9: Validation of the NTFC's revised Terms of Reference and presentation of the way forward for a Phase 2 of the project. 

At the end of the validation workshop, the NTFC will have: 

• Validated the procedures mapped by the TIP team and the international consultant and published the information on the Trade Information Portal; 
• Validated, with the entire NTFC, the Terms of Reference, developed during the mission in February, for the NTFC’s Secretariat, the NTFC as a whole, and the Technical Subcommittees; 
• Strengthened the role of the private sector within the NTFC in the decision-making process.
