In the framework of the Development account 11: Leapfrogging skills development in e-Commerce in South-East Asia in the Framework of the 2030 Development Agenda. UNCTAD TrainForTrade, in cooperation with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippines and UNESCAP, is organizing a regional workshop on e-Commerce Best Practices in Manila, Philippines from 20-23 May 2019.
Following the eLearning session organized from 1st April to 3rd May 2019, a total of 250 participants registered for the 6 modules course. 70 participants were certified based on their results (above 50%). Out of the 70 successful candidates, 35 participants from the public and private sectors (Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Thailand) have been selected to attend the face-to-face workshop and present a national case study related to best practices of eCommerce in their respective countries. Site visits of 3 companies, namely, Lazada, Air21 and Zalora Philippines are also organized to observe eCommerce good practice and business process.
This activity is anchored in the Development Account Project, “Leapfrogging skills development in e-commerce in South-East Asia in the Framework of the 2030 Development Agenda”. The overall objectives of the project is to:
- Increase knowledge of the practical eCommerce to challenges outlined in the roadmap
- Translating into national policy the international best practices in eCommerce and adapting it to the national and regional framework
- Building up SMEs expertise in the field of best practices for eCommerce and increasing their participation in the digital economy
