The UNCTAD secretariat has the honour to inform member States that the next meeting of the Preparatory Committee will be held on 14 March 2016. The meeting will open at 10 a.m. on Monday, 14 March, in room XXVI of the Palais des Nations.
The session, to be presided by the Chair of the Preparatory Committee, His Excellency Ambassador Alberto Pedro D’Alotto, will focus on the "zero draft" outcome document of UNCTAD 14 submitted by the Chair to member States at the third meeting of the Committee on 12 February 2016.
The discussions will be suspended at 11.30 a.m. and followed immediately by a presentation by a high-level delegation of Kenya led by Her Excellency Ambassador (Dr.) Amina Mohamed, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Kenya, in the presence of Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi, Secretary-General of UNCTAD. The presentation will focus on the status of preparations for UNCTAD 14 by the host country.
The presentation will be followed by the inauguration of an exhibition on Kenya as host country of UNCTAD 14 to be displayed in front of room XXVI and a reception hosted by the Government of Kenya.
The fourth meeting of the Preparatory Committee will resume on Monday, 14 March, at 3 p.m., and will continue on 15 and 18 March 2016 according to the requirements of negotiations.
