Peru has classified for the Fifa World Cup for the first time in 36 years. There is a great expectation from Peruvian consumers and the growing Peruvian football industry. In the framework of the COMPAL Programme, supported by the Swiss cooperation SECO, UNCTAD and the Peruvian competition and consumer protection agency INDECOPI organise the International Seminar on Promoting competition and consumer protection in Fifa World Cup Russia 2018.
The high level international seminar aims to address current issues on competition and consumer protection in the upcoming Fifa World Cup Russia 2018. Mr. Javier Tebas, President of the Spanish Football League, is the keynote speaker. He will address the evolution of professional football in Spain, sources of funding, economic control and new technologies. The event will also address issues of: compliance and good advertising practices, consumer rights and competition in audiovisual rights.
