UNCTAD Empowerment Programme for National Transit Coordinators

​Financed by the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting via Her Majesty Revenue and Customs (HMRC) , the event will address representatives of Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa and Zambia on transit coordination.

The objectives are:

• To train representatives of the selected countries on transit coordination and the role of transit coordinators as per Article 11 of the WTO Trade Facilitation Committee;
• To give the selected countries’ transit coordinators the opportunity to peer learn and share individual country experiences;
• To introduce representatives and national transit coordinators to international best practices in transit coordination.
• To introduce representatives to useful tools and concepts in transit coordination such as the TIR Convention and Corridor Management
