UNCTAD TrainForTrade MOOCs on “Legal Aspects of E-commerce”: module 1

13 - 17 October 2014
ECOWAS countries

UNCTAD through its TrainForTrade programme launched the TrainForTrade Project in West Africa in early 2013, to strengthen capacities in the area of e-Commerce. As part of this project, and in cooperation with UNCTAD’s e-Commerce and Law Reform programme, and the ECOWAS Commission, TrainForTrade will run a SPOC (Small Private Online Course), part of MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses), on “Legal Aspects of E-Commerce” from 13 October to 14 November 2014, in English and French, starting with module 1 “Regulating e-Commerce”. ECOWAS countries in West Africa have been invited to participate in the course and over 150 participants have already registered. The training course is designed for policy and law makers in charge of drafting national legal frameworks on e-commerce and will be followed by face-to-face courses in 2015. In each country, a TFT technical tutor will facilitate the delivery at local level. This activity is funded by the United Nations Development Account.
