This briefing session aims to present the review process of graduation from the group of UN-recognized least developed countries (LDCs). The key findings of DESA’s Impact Assessments and of UNCTAD’s Vulnerability Profiles and National Productive Capacity Gap Assessments for the five countries that were found eligible for graduation in the 2021 review of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP), namely Cambodia, Comoros, Djibouti, Senegal and Zambia, will be presented.
This event will enable invited stakeholders to engage with CDP representatives on the review process of the LDC graduation criteria. Furthermore, the event represents an opportunity for Geneva and Addis-Ababa-based stakeholders to learn about the findings of the graduation assessment documents, namely the Vulnerability Profiles and the Impact Assessments, which are part of the substantive material to be used by the CDP for their LDC graduation assessments.
