The study tour is organized by the UNCTAD Virtual Institute (Vi, DGDS) at the request of Colombian member universities, Universidad EAFIT, ICESI and Universidad de La Sabana.
During one week, students will undergo tailored training on trade and development delivered by UNCTAD’s divisions and programmes, the WTO, ITC and the Permanent Mission of Colombia to the UN and WTO.
The programme includes sessions on the international financial system; foreign direct investment; technology and innovation; 2030 agenda for sustainable development; non-tariff measures; climate change; industrial policies; multilateral trade negotiations and WTO regional trade agreements . The study tour will also offer a hands-on session on ITC’s market research and analysis tools and a simulation exercise on FDI.
