The webinar, presented by UNCTAD as part of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) Capacity-Building Webinar Series on the African Continental Input-Output Table (AfCIOT), focused on exploring data issues and solutions related to trade in services in Africa. It addressed the current availability and challenges of trade-in-services statistics, discussed classifications, compilation guidelines, and the role of enterprise surveys, and previewed upcoming revisions to the Balance of Payments Manual (BPM7). Additionally, the session showcased e-learning opportunities, examined the integration of the TiSSTAT questionnaire into a comprehensive information system, and considered policy implications regarding services value-added, with ample time allocated for participant questions and interactive discussions. The webinar was organized by the UNECA and attended by participants across the African continent.
