For a third consecutive year, the UNCTAD Virtual Institute (Vi) organizes a study tour for the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), China, as one of Vi services for its member universities.
During one week, UIBE students will undergo tailored training on trade and development delivered by UNCTAD’s divisions and programmes, the WTO, ITC, WIPO and the Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China in Geneva.
In addition to familiarizing students with the role of the above organizations, the tour will cover a variety of trade and development issues, such as current trends and challenges in the world economy, BRICS and South-South integration, foreign direct investment, technology and innovation, trade and transport facilitation, climate change and trade, and corporate social responsibility. The students will also practice their negotiating and team work skills by participating in a simulation exercise on foreign direct investment.
