The E-Commerce and Digital Economy Branch of UNCTAD, in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Handicrafts of Côte d'Ivoire, will organize a workshop to launch the process to establish a National E-commerce Observatory on 27 and 28 October 2026.
The event will bring together representatives from the public and private sector, civil society organizations, and development partners to discuss the Observatory's mission and formulate recommendations for its establishment and operationalization.
During the workshop, UNCTAD will also present and facilitate discussions on an analytical study examining the environmental and sustainability implications of e-commerce in Côte d'Ivoire, including related impacts, risks, and opportunities.
The event builds on a multi-stakeholder workshop on 8 July 2026 in Abidjan that took stock of progress made in the implementation of the country’s national e-commerce strategy and identified priorities for e-commerce and digital trade development, including the National E-commerce Observatory.
Funding is provided by the Republic of Korea as part of support for advancing digital trade reforms in Côte d'Ivoire.
