UNCTAD and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment organized an Entrepreneurship Policy workshop in Banjul, The Gambia from 12-13 October 2016.
This second workshop validated the main recommendations for the National Entrepreneurship Policy and Action Plan of The Gambia.
It gave the different stakeholders opportunities to examine the Entrepreneurship Policy drafted by UNCTAD and provide final comments to the document.
After the welcoming remarks by the Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment, and the outline of the current economic and regulatory reforms planned by the government, the entrepreneurship policy has been endorsed by participants.
Main comments referred to the necessity to shift from gender neutral to making equitable access for women entrepreneurs clear throughout the document, as well as indicate climate change challenges and opportunities.
