Information Society stakeholders invited to share experience of progress made since WSIS in 2003/05

02 July 2014

The UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development, of which UNCTAD is the Secretariat, is holding an open consultation on the ten-year review of World Summit on the Information Society.

The UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), is seeking contributions on the implementation of outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).

WSIS, which was held in two phases in 2003 and 2005, brought information and communications technologies for development to the top of the United Nations agenda.

Following a request by the UN's Economic and Social Council, in its resolution E/2013/9, the CSTD invites all stakeholders to share their experiences, views and priorities on progress made in the implementation of outcomes of WSIS.

Contributions must be made by 31 August 2014, either by email to the CSTD Secretariat at cstd-wsis10@unctad.org or through the questionnaire available in UNCTAD website.
