GLOBAL COMPACT, SWISS BUSINESS AND DEVELOPMENT

Geneva, Switzerland, 28 October 2002

The symposium on "The UN Global Compact and Swiss business: making global responsibility work for business and development", organized by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, the UN Global Compact and UNCTAD on Tuesday 29 October, will be broadcast live on The United Nations Global Compact and Swiss Business.

The event is intended to introduce Swiss executives to the Global Compact proposed by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in 1999 and to expand the scope of the Global Compact to encompass the development dimension.
From 9:30 am to 1 pm (Geneva time), journalists will be able to follow such speakers as:
