UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) invites you to the official launch of the Review of Maritime Transport 2024: Navigating maritime choke-points, which will address critical vulnerabilities in global maritime routes, including the Suez and Panama Canals.

These disruptions, driven by climate change and geopolitical tensions, are putting global trade and supply chains at significant risk, with particularly severe impacts on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

The report will outline urgent measures needed to strengthen maritime resilience, promote low-carbon shipping, and combat fraudulent ship registrations.

Speakers:

  • Shamika Sirimanne – Director, Division on Technology and Logistics, UNCTAD
  • Jan Hoffmann - Chief of Trade Logistics Branch, UNCTAD
