This report has been prepared in response to the request by the Economic and Social Council to the United Nations Secretary-General to inform the Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) concerning the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
It reviews progress in implementation of WSIS outcomes and identifies obstacles and constraints encountered.
The report has been prepared by the UNCTAD secretariat based on information provided by entities in the United Nations system and elsewhere on their efforts in 2011 to implement the WSIS outcomes, with a view to sharing effective practices and lessons learned.
All documents are made available in the language and form in which they were received.
