The CSTD Bureau is composed of a Chair and four Vice-Chairs.
A bureau is elected at each regular session.
The Commission elected by acclamation the following officers for its twenty-sixth session:
- Muhammadou M.O. Kah (Gambia)
- Peter Major (Hungary)
- Ana Cristina Amoroso das Neves (Portugal)
- Mansour Al-Qurashi (Saudi Arabia)
The Commission postponed the election of the Chair from the Latin American and Caribbean States on the understanding that upon the endorsement by the regional group to serve on the Bureau, the endorsed Member of the Commission would be allowed to participate fully in the Bureau meetings in preparation for the Commission’s twenty-sixth session and that the formal election would take place at the start of the 26th session next year.
In the meantime, the Chair of the 25th session, Mr. Mansour Al-Qurashi (Saudi Arabia) will continue in the interim to serve as Acting Chair to ensure the continuity of the intersessional work of the Commission and that of the Bureau.
