Bureau of the Commission on Science and Technology for Development

The Bureau of the Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) is composed of a Chair and four Vice-Chairs.

A bureau is elected at each regular session.

 

The Commission elected the following officers for its twenty-ninth session:

  • Guilherme de Aguiar Patriota (Brazil)
  • Muhammadou M.O.Kah (Gambia)
  • PeterMajor (Hungary)
  • Isabelle Lois (Switzerland)

The Commission postponed the election of the Chair from the Asia-Pacific States on the understanding that upon the endorsement by the regional group to serve on the Bureau, the endorsed Member of the Commission would be allowed to participate fully in the Bureau meetings in preparation for the Commission’s twenty-ninth session and that the formal election would take place at the start of the 29thsession next year.

In the meantime, Mr. Muhammadou M.O. Kah (Gambia) will continue in the interim to serve as Chair to ensure the continuity of the intersessional work of the Commission and that of the Bureau.
