Bureau of the CSTD

The CSTD Bureau is composed of a Chair and four Vice-Chairs.

A bureau is elected at each regular session.

The Commission elected by acclamation the following officers for its twenty-seventh session:

  • Ana Cristina Amoroso das Neves (Portugal)

Vice Chairs:

  • Muhammadou M.O. Kah (Gambia)
  • Peter Major (Hungary)
  • Luis Juan Chuquihuara Chil (Peru)

The Commission postponed the election of the Vice-Chair from the Asia-Pacific States on the understanding that upon the endorsement by the regional group to serve on the Bureau, the endorsed Member of the Commission would be allowed to participate fully in the Bureau meetings in preparation for the Commission’s twenty-seventh session and that the formal election would take place at the start of the 27th session next year.

In the meantime, Mr. Mansour Al-Qurashi (Saudi Arabia) will continue in the interim to serve as Vice-Chair from the Asia-Pacific States to ensure the continuity of the intersessional work of the Commission and that of the Bureau.
