The team working on statistics produces more than 150 indicators and statistical time series. Countries profiles are made available that not only display data unique to UNCTAD, but also basic economic data freely available to anybody, simply by using a computer or smartphone with internet access.
UNCTAD also helps countries in how to best collect data, including through training.

The need to access reliable data is also felt by governments when they are for instance working on formulating sound economic policies.

Youth programmes may exist at a national level where youth can participate in such training courses and help countries further develop, manage and analyse data.
Big data can be used to inform the work of governments so that young people can better participate in policy-making.
Youth provide dynamic perspectives, and through access to comprehensive statistics and data, they can influence the public sphere in an informed way for their own benefit and that of future generations.
Big data combined with an informed youth can bring a strong and rapid growth in shaping the future youth want.
Big data is a new and dynamic topic that will continue to shape and alter the world and the way small and big enterprises function alike.
Youth are the better prepared ones to take on this new challenge, adapt to it and use big data to their own advantage!
