The 5th Steering Committee meeting convened to review progress under the CARICOM capacity-building project and to prepare for the next phase of implementation. The session opened with welcoming remarks, followed by a review of follow-up actions from the previous (4th) Steering Committee meeting held in April 2025. Members assessed completed activities, outstanding items, and key lessons relevant for upcoming work.
A major focus of the meeting was the status of country engagement. Updates were presented on ongoing collaboration with Grenada, Dominica, Saint Lucia, and Saint Kitts and Nevis, covering both statistical and policy components of the project. This included progress on data collection efforts, survey responses, and coordination with national counterparts. The OECS also provided an update on liaison activities and logistical arrangements that support broader regional implementation.
The Committee then examined plans for upcoming fact-finding and advisory missions scheduled for January–April 2026.
