Participants from regional governments, international development partners, academia and the private sector will take part in the ADB-ESCAP Workshop on Promoting E-commerce in Asia and the Pacific: a Holistic Approach (27-28 August 2018)

UNCTAD will contribute to Session 6: E-solutions to facilitate e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce, which aims to strengthen the capacity of developing countries to engage in and benefit from e-commerce.

Less than two years after its inception, UNCTAD's Rapid eTrade Readiness Assessment programme has carried out ten assessments in Least Developed Counties, including in Bhutan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Liber, Myanmar, Nepal, Samoa, Senegal, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Fifteen additional assessments are planned over the next twelve months. The ADB-ESCAP workshop will provide an opportunity for UNCTAD to share its findings from these assessments and to strengthen its partnership with eTrade for all partners.
