UNCTAD, in cooperation with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission will hold an eTrade Reform Tracker (eTRT) Capacity Building Workshop on 27-28 November 2025 in Abuja. The eTRT is an online platform designed by UNCTAD to help lead Government agencies coordinate more effectively the implementation of national and regional e-commerce strategies. The purpose of the workshop is to enhance the skills of ECOWAS Commission officials in the use of the tracker and support the implementation and coordination of the Regional ECOWAS E-commerce Strategy 2023-2027.

This event is part of UNCTAD’s long-standing support for the development of e-commerce and the digital economy in ECOWAS, including an eTrade Readiness Assessment of ECOWAS Member States published in 2022 and the subsequent development of the Regional ECOWAS E-commerce Strategy adopted in July 2023. Following the launch of the Regional E-commerce Committee in July 2025 to strengthen the governance framework of the regional strategy. UNCTAD is supporting the implementation and monitoring of the ECOWAS strategy through the eTRT roll-out and related training activities.
