The E-Commerce and Digital Economy Branch of UNCTAD, in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry in Ghana will hold a Capacity-Building Workshop on Inclusive E-commerce and Digital Trade on 11 August 2026 in Accra.
The workshop aims to support the inclusive implementation of the National E-commerce Strategy by identifying barriers to and opportunities for persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups, enhancing key stakeholders' understanding of issues related to inclusive e-commerce and digital trade, and strengthening their capacity to incorporate inclusion-related measures into the strategy's implementation.
The event will gather government officials, representatives from organisations of persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups, the private sector and development partners in Ghana.
The elaboration and implementation of the Ghana E-commerce Strategy takes place in the framework of the UN Joint SDG Fund Digital Transformation Window 2023, implemented by UNCTAD in partnership with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and coordinated by the UN Resident Coordinator Office (UNRCO).
The joint programme focuses on leveraging digital ecosystems for increased MSME productivity and will enhance the capacity of policy makers to lead, plan, implement and monitor e-commerce reforms that contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.
