As part of the UNCTAD Empowerment Programme for Trade Facilitation, the monitoring and evaluation course is designed to help members of National Trade Facilitation Committees (NTFCs) and other trade facilitation stakeholders strengthen their skills in tracking and assessing trade facilitation reforms. The course provides practical knowledge on how to measure progress, evaluate implementation, identify challenges, address bottlenecks, and take timely corrective measures to achieve better results.

After two earlier editions held in English and one in Spanish, this is now the second Spanish edition, welcoming participants from Bolivia, Ecuador, Honduras, and Peru. Throughout the course, participants explored the main concepts of monitoring and evaluation and their importance for trade facilitation. They also learned how to design a monitoring plan, apply planning tools, methods, and techniques, and conduct an evaluation step by step.

The closing ceremony will summarize the main concepts and insights gained by the participants during the course. It will also present and reward the best final projects, while offering a deeper reflection on how monitoring and evaluation can strengthen the effectiveness and impact of the work of National Trade Facilitation Committees and trade facilitation practitioners.

This second edition was delivered in selected Spanish-speaking countries participating in UNCTAD’s project “Accelerate Trade Facilitation”, financed by the United Kingdom.
